Council Chamber
Information about the Council Chamber
The hub of civic life, the Council Chamber is where decisions affecting the lives of the people of Hull are made. Heavy leather covered oak doors open into a dramatic arena of tiered seating beneath massive bronze chandeliers hanging from mouths of fish. Hull's maritime heritage is there in full effect. The glass domed roof where daylight floods in is shown as fish scales. The impressive plasterwork ceiling features white roses of Yorkshire, one for every day of the year. This is a magnificent room.
The room has fixed theatre style seating for up to 80 people with a public gallery which can seat another 40 people.
This room is ideal for -
- conferences
- debates
